Default UDP Questions?

Ok Im looking to do my next inexpensive mod. I am considering UDP's. Can someone please give me the pros and cons on them. I know they gain some HP but what is the payoff on stuff like your A/C and things? Are they bad for your engine? Thanks....

I've had them on a couple of V-8 Mustangs. Never saw much of an improvment. I think they're more trouble than they're worth. Just my opinion.

Definitely no trouble - none.

They give a little exta boost and the engine revs quicker. I'd say if you're outta mods and have $200 to spend do it

Cheap and easy mod. I got the Steeda set, but there are several good vendors out there. It's really a matter of personal choice.

I've heard they're barely noticeable, as far as power gains are concerned. On our newer 'Stangs, I don't think they have any deleterious effects in terms of A/C and charging. Check out the Meziere electric water pump, it's supposed to have better gains for a slight bit more cash.

I thought those meziere electric water pumps gave sllightly less hp? I did the charge motion delete plates and under drive pulleys at the same time, I noticed a very slight change but it was minor.. worth it only if you want to do full-bolt ons imo.. I'm gonna be running full bolt-ons for a couple of years before I supercharge it.. want to pay off the car and save up for awhile..

I got like 1-2 MPG's better on the interstate. Didn't really notice any power increase, but there have been some tests done that for sure show some HP increases.

I bought the Steeda UDP's and they are really easy to install in a couple hours, just purchase the new bolt so you don't reuse the original Ford one.

The ONLY negative I can see is when it is really hot out, I just started the car up and I am idling, it will blow hot air. Once I get it cooled down, it no longer seems to be a problem. But I don't drive in much stop and go traffic and I wanted the extra 1-2 MPG's because it is my work car.
