What % tint should I get...
i would like to get the darkest tint possible but i dont want to run into any trouble...i know the states legal limits but see many people in the forum using 5% tint...my question is what is the lowest tint % i could get without most likely running into trouble with the law...side note: this is my daily driver. thanks to anyone for any input

I have 5% on the back and 15% on the sides. I like the look and have never been stopped for it. AZ's window tint law is 35% i believe, but having the back that dark makes it seem that the front isn't as dark as it seems.

there are all kinds of posts on window tint here; you might try a search if you havent all ready. My personal expereince is mixed. I am from missouri and in oklahoma temperarally. In missouri I have 4 tint warnings for being 10% too dark (lucky not to be ticketed). In OK, they have a 25% all around law but, for reasons i dont know yet, dont check unless you are 55 or above (this is what i have heard from more than one local shop...weird, i know).
My point is that different states treat their laws their own ways... im going with my gut and playing it safe myself. id ask your local shops, theyd probly know best.

Unless you want to make frequent "donations" to your local County and State, AND have to pay to have it RE-tinted I suggest you go by what your local/state laws are. The "donation" can be hella expensive, at least it is here in Louisiana.

Here you go: http://www.tintcenter.com/laws/OH/
It appears you can have any darkness on back windshield and rear quarters, BUT you'll need 50% up front, which is a shade darker than no tint. Bahh!
Anything darker than 50% would probably be at the discretion of your local police, i.e., do they have plenty of free time to pull you over and harass you over window tint....or are they busy accomplishing more productive police duties?
Hope this helps.

In my state, window tinting max is 25%.
I believe our laws are more stringent than other states, so if you go 25%, you will be okay, and 25% is actually pretty dark already. You can see shapes inside the car, but you cannot make out details, such as who is in the car what they are wearing, etc.
I am surprised that Ohio allows 50%, that is damn dark.
