Deciphering Ford Racing Muffler Offerings
Can anyone help me understand why Ford Racing has two 50 state legal muffler offerings for the 2010 Mustang?
Here's what I've found Thus far:
M-5230-GTC
http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...KeyField=11178
M-5230-SA
http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...KeyField=11109
Since so many of the YouTube clips are 2005-2009 based cars I keep finding;
M-5230-GTA
http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tKeyField=8839
Apparently the Shelby GT's came with the GTA. Did our 2010 GT's come with a 2010 version of the GTA? *For the first two part numbers Ford Racing offers a 2005-2009 version with shorter tips. Can anyone confirm that the SA are the "stingers" that people keep referring to? Has anyone heard the GTC?
Thanks for the help!

The factory mufflers are none of the above, they are very quite from the factory for obvious reasons, the 50 state mufflers are quieter than the 49 state legal mufflers, California has strict sound bylaws! Hope this clarifies things?
I don't get it either. But the 2010 stockers look exactly like the GTA's with a different tip. I still haven't heard the GTA's in person, but the stock '10 mufflers are definitely louder than stock '08 mufflers on a friends car.
Yes, very confusing. Basically there's now 2 versions of each muffler - one for 05 to 09 and one for 2010.
The first one known as GTB for 2005 - 2009 is also known as the Bullitt mufflers. they were unique to the Bullitt - similar to GTAs but since the H-pipe on the Bullitt was slightly modified they were tuned specifically for it. From what I can tell they are similar in sound, etc to the GTAs.
Second one's - the S - I believe are unique to the GT500KR. Similar to the Stingers. More of a straight through design versus chambered.
And the last one's are the GTAs, which I have. Very similar to stock but a little louder and nicer tips. And no, I don't think they were stock on the Shelby GTs. The Stingers were on the Shelby GTs.

I know you guys have GT's, and mine is a six, but I agree the stock GT mufflers not only look different but sound different on the v6's. When I installed the NTO true duals on my 2010, the same day our local car club had a install day so another v6 also had a true dual setup installed, the two cars have the same engine (4.0) but mine sounded better than his.
