Default Manufacturing label

My car got in an accident. The body shop replaced the driver side panel and the manufacturing label on the panel. Can I get a duplicate label to put on my new driver side panel?

Its been covered here.
I wll see if I can find the post.

Did the body shop replace the panel and the sticker as your post would indicate?
If so, whats the problem again?

EDIT: https://mustangforums.com/forum/gt-s...-stickers.html

The body shop that did the work should have taken care of that for you....
Or did they????

Prolly not. The body shop I went to just cut it straight off the panel and threw it into my glove box. The body shop is supposedly to replace it for you. Otherwise you can talk to Ford, which I think is even more of a hassle. Mine is still sitting in the glove box, no sticker attached to the car.

Sorry to hear about the accident BTW.

I had a door replaced on a Taurus once and the metal piece they cut off and gave you is SUPPOSED to be sent back to Ford and they will send a duplicate sticker. I believe it only cost $30 from my dealership. Wipe off the area with alcohol and apply the new sticker...no biggie. (I say "supposed" because they don't always actually make you send it in).

I was at the Ford dealership parts dept few months back and I asked the guy there. When he had the door jam sticker replaced, he said it was this huge deal and difficult to get. A Ford rep had to come out to the dealership and watch the placement of the sticker and everything. Others say the body shop is supposed to handle it. I didn't continue to pursue it since I am not planning on selling or trading anytime soon.

I had the 1/4 panel replaced on my 2006. I went to the Dealer I bought my car from and explained the situation. They contacted the Regional Service Manager and he was able to get a new label. The label went straight to the regional manager and he came to the dealership and installed it himself after verifying the VIN ...

If it is just a sticker and it is still attached to the metal that was cut out . Why then can't you just heat up the back of the metal plate with a heat gun and carefully peel it off?

They most likely have security features that prevent removal or the destruction of the sticker. I.E. those void stickers that leave marks and peels off the back.
