Now I wonder, they say the auction is for the preorder, and state seperatly that the MSRP is 49,000..... Do you think the auction is soley the delaer markup, and does not cover MSRP at all?

i wouldnt think so. i would assume its full cost of the car. They just are being up front on how much the car retails for

Sorry folks I am usually the one saying there is no way I'd pay ridiculous mark ups
but if there truly are only 250 of these ever made I'd pay that much if I had the cash.
That baby would be worth more than that in the long run and let's face it...
it would be quite a thing to own such a rare Mustang.

Problem is that we have no idea if Ford is being true to it's word though.

There will be 1,000 Laguna Seca cars made, theoretically only 250 in black with red. Now would you pay that much? On other forums there are people claiming they have ordered and have deposits on the LS at MSRP.

if there are 1000 being made, and you can order it how you like, how can there be a hard set number of how many are made before they are? Where are these hard numbers comming from? Is Ford saying order it how you want, but were not gonna let you order black with red stripes if we have sold 250? Where does Ford say that?

Not attacking or anything, it just seems like there are tons of places trying to quantify this there own way. I would be inclined to belive there are going to be many more available then the amount the person on ebay is claiming, trying to turn a profit on a car they dont even have yet.

See thats a diff. story then.

If there were only 250 being made period, and I had the cash... I'd be all over one.

JD I completely agree with you.
I don't understand how they are coming up with that number.

Exactly. The order guide doesn't state anything about limiting colors so there could be 500 black or 500 silver LS for 2012. Order it anyway you want? Right. There are only two options on the LS: Color - black or silver, and the accessory package - car cover and mats. That's it nothing else. Regardless I expect the LS to get some ADM as some dealers won't get any and some only one. MSRP is $47,990 including delivery and if they are a legit dealer they'd know that.

Whats funny is the pre-production auction to guarantee you get one, didn't even hit MSRP. I would love to have one... With how good they handle, I'd slap a modest supercharger on it and call it a day. But not with a huge dealer markup. I mean seriously, even though they just dropped 10k off your expected price, there still trying to get nearly 40k over MSRP..... You can go grab a second boss with that money...

For that kind of money, I would but a correct, original 60s - 70s Boss 302....investment and exclusivity guaranteed. With the extra money, i would buy a nice, used S197.
