Question Temperature gauge not working

Anyone experience issues with their temparature gauge?

I've noticed over the past few weeks that my temp gauge is not moving. It hangs below the cold level. My commute is only 15 min., however the gauge does not move at all.

My car rides perfectly fine, especially in the cold weather. =-)

Any ideas? suggestions?

Thanks!
Kevin

Kevin... in 2005 the stepper motors were faulty and will die. My RPM gauge has been dead for almost 2 years, gas gauge about 8 months now. My speedo has a mind of its own aswell. Colder weather effects it more.

Thanks for the info bro!
Do you know if this will affect if my fan will kick on or not?
I've read a little about the stepper motor. Works been crazy, so I don't have much time to research. On occasion, the tachometer is off by 500 rpm, but when I shut the car off and restart, it's fine. I guess the only way to fix is to purchase a new stepper motor? I've read they are not cheap. It's not a big deal, but was wondering if there was an easy and cheap solution.
When are you picking your car up from the shop?

Shouldn't affect the fan unless it's the coolant temp sensor and not the gauge that is faulty. But that will be easy to tell by popping the hood after idling for a good while and seeing if the fan kicks on or not.

No it has no affect as Siggy said. The stepper motors are $7 on eBay, its not too hard to change but you gotta know what you're doing. I tried to fix my RPM gauge to no avail lol. I'm going to get mine replaced for roughly $300 I can't take it anymore. And I am picking up the car today .

Appreciate everyones responses. On a good note, I heard my fan kick on yesterday when I pulled into the garage. With that said, I am not too worried about it.

Awesome bro!! Keep us posted on the dyno numbers and also let us know your thoughts after you drive the beast around this evening!! Enjoy!!
