One for each ignition you have. why do you need more than one?

It must be nice to have never lost or misplaced any key, ever. Or locked it inside the car (or house) that it opens.

It's having your head in the sand to think that it'll never happen to you, ever. And a complete waste of time and $ to count on AAA and locksmiths to bail you out when it does.

I'm guessing however many you want? I can't see why not.

TD
Yes I have never locked my keys in my car or in my house, I don't have AAA, I can change my own tire. I have never ran out of gas and change my own oil. I guess that goes along with being responsible. I think it's like 1st mustang said, as many as you want.
BTW. It will never happen to me, ever.

A maximum of 8 coded keys can be programmed to your vehicle. Only 4 of those 8 keys can be IKT's (Integrated Keyhead Transmitter) with remote entry functionality

1DrunkCat is correct. I bought a third key just to have a spare in case one gets lost. You can program a new key yourself provided you have two available. If not, it's dealer time and around $140 for key and programming.

Word of advice: If you only have two keys now, get a third just in case.

+1

This is why you want to have a 3rd spare key. If you do loose one, at least you have 2 and CAN still program your own keys. If you only have one, you''ll be SOL and have to go to the stealership and pay them $140 to make and program another key for you. Doesn't hurt to have a few bucks security blanket for a what if. No matter how good you think you are.. Murphy's law is still around.

Always good to have a back up.
Also, I always carry a spare key that is programed more or less as a valet. I wouldn't want my car to become a joyride.

File that under "famous last words".

Long time ago, I'd have said the same thing. Once I got a little older, I knew better.

Sooner or later, haste or a moment's distraction > anybody's view of responsibility. It's tougher to slim-jim your way into cars with a coat hanger now than it was back in the 1960's and 1970's, y'know
