Default I need Tire Size Help?

Hi, I need some info on what would be a good tire size for a set of Saleen Style Black 7 spoke wheel. The rear will be 20"X10" and the front will be 20"X9". I'm interested in a good quality tire like a Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. I'm not sure on tire sizes and I want a good wide set of tires. I am going to buy the rims through Cruiz Concepts:

SALEEN STYLE BLACK 7 SPOKE WHEEL 20"X10" +42MM OFFSET.
SALEEN STYLE BLACK 7 SPOKE WHEEL 20"X9" +36MM OFFSET.

I would prefer a set of Saleen Black 7 spoke but, can't find a place that sells them and the Saleen web page doesn't doesn't list them. Anyways I could use some advice on what size tires I should be placing on these rims. Thanks in advance.

P.S. are 20" rims to big or should go with 19"? I love the stance on the 20" rims.

The 19" rims are harder to find tires for. In CT, you are going to have pot holes and frost heaves in roads. I'd stick to the 18's vs. 20's.

Here's a handy tire size calculator so you can see the difference from stock:

Thanks for the response. I don't drive it daily during the winter. Any ideas on proper tire size?

Yea, my stang is in the "shed" until spring too. Driving my Subaru around in all this snow.

You want your total diameter as close to stock as possible. Far as width, I have 285 on a 9.5" rear wheel. You could go 305's on the back 10's and that would look sweet.

Try this calculator. You'll want to try to stay close to the OE tire O.D. or you'll need a tuner to adjust the tire revs/mile: http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp

IMO, the Stang just doesn't look right with 20's or even 19's. Just too much wheel for too little car. It begins to look like a chariot or a wagon or worse yet, out-of-da-hood. And with 20's, you need to run with rubber band tires with little sidewall. It looks like tras (on most Stangs) and rides worse than stock. But that's just my 2 cents.

I agree on some cars it looks terrible. I seen a lot of cars that in my opinion look good. Done with the right stance/lowering it will look good. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the response. That sounds about right. You would say 285/35/20 and 305/30/20? What do you think is a good brand......I was thinking of going with a Michelin Pilot Sport A/S.....what do you think?

What's the tread look like? I have the Toyo summer tires cause the BF Goodrich g-force t/a's were too much money.

Thanks.....it's difficult to size & price a 20" tire. I want to stagger the tire like you stated but, none of the online tire places list 20" tires.
