Sorry to bring up an old thread. I'm contemplating the same sub/box setup and wanted the w6 instead of the w3. Are you sure it wont fit? MTx stealthbox is for 05-11. I contacted them and they said it has been tested and will fit in an 11. I dont see why JL's wouldnt be the same way. Is the trunk different on the 10-11 than the 05-09?

MTX stealthbox won't work with 2010 and up models either. Never trust an item description on Mustangs that says 2005 - Current or something similar. Why would the 2005-2009 be the same? The floor pans, body panels, carpet, seats, lights, windows and nearly everything else is different.

JL Audio's description on their site is confusing. They list the 2005-2009 model as 2005-Up because the description was written before a 2010 model was even thought of. Look at the 2010-Up model for instance, why wouldn't that one for 2005-2009?

Just looking at the 2 models below they're obviously a different size.

The jl boxes are a diff size but I wasn't sure if the backs of them(that goes against the wall) was the same.

Call JL Audio. It won't fit.

Look along the top right side near the back. You can see the entire curvature of the back side furthest towards the rear of the car. They are different.

It looks like your right. I wish jl hadn't downgraded the sub to the w3 in the new ones. I wanted a great sq sub like the w6
