You will like regular shifters less after you install one. That is the only downside I've experienced. I've run short-shifters in the last 3 manual cars I've owned. I can't speak to the quality of the Hurst shifter as I've never owned one, but am completely happy with the Saleen short shifter in my Mustang.

The Hurst is pretty decent, a lil notchy for my taste though.

I have had Pro 5.0 in all my Mustangs, very very solid shifter, but reverse can be a effort to put it in. But 1 -3 is clean and fast.

MGW is also a very good brand. Lil more expensive but worth every penny.

If you own 2 cars with manual transmissions, and only one has a short shifter, the other one feels like you are driving a semi. That's about the only downside I noticed, lol.

Once you install the short throw shifter....you will ask yourself why didn't I do this sooner!

the hurst one is notchy according to sme of the guys i know that hav ethem and they tend to rattle and drive peopel nuts. the roush one is nice, but very notchy. if you like that sort of feel its good. if you want smooth shifts and adjustabiltiy the MGW is the way to go. it's not even that much more expensive any more

I drove a friends car with the same shifter you are looking at, and I loved it and it is one of the things I have added to my list of mods to be done. Yes it is notchy like the others say but it also is a night and day difference in the throw.
