Default 2007 overheating help please

Started off by water spewing out of the radiator water tank, changed the thermostat and the water tank cap. Seemed to be ok for a week then today smoke started coming from under the hood. No water spewing out but the water was boiling. Through all this the heat gage goes up to the mid way point and stays there, never goes higher, never goes lower. Also notice that at times the heater doesnt work. Any help? Thanks!

Is your fan spinning? Could also be a temperature sensor...

Stupid question for you. You are running coolant and not just straight water I hope?

Have you checked all the hoses. There may be a collapsed hose. Has the system been pressure tested?

Any evidence of water in your oil? Have you looked at the underside of the oil cap? If it looks like baby poop inside, you probably have a head gasket leak. That can cause overheating. Joy...

Havent checked the oil cap, just had the oil changed last weekend and they usually tell me if I need anything but didnt say anything about water in the oil. I will check the cap myself when I get home tonight.

No heat makes it sound like the coolant isn't circulating... does the water pump work?
