Default Bullitt 20 X 8.5 with Staggered Tires. Is it worth staggering?

I just bought a Flat Black Finish 20 X 8.5 Bullitt wheels. I'm planning on staggering the tires with size 245/35 in the front and 265/30 in the back. Is it worth staggering? Will it have that staggered look? The reason why I didn't go with staggered wheels is because they don't have the Flat Black finish on staggered. Do you think doing staggered tires on a 2010 Stang throw off the Traction Control? Lastly, if anyone has the same set up I'm mentioning, can you show me some pics? Thanks!!!

To be honest, I would put 255/35/20 on all four wheels and call it good. Staggered is good if you have the wheels that are already staggered to begin with, but since you dont, you might as well enjoy rotating your tires while you can.

8.5 isn't much width to stagger with. 255's are as wide as that wheel can safely handle. I'd go with 255's all around if you're stuck with that wheel. And with 20's, your sidewall will be rubberband tall. Ehhhhh.

Traction control will only be affected by a significant difference in tire OD. You COULD put 235's up front if you want to stagger but the sidewalls, front to rear, would look dumb. You'll need to maintain close to the OE tire OD. Any differences that'll throw off your speedo will need you to adjust using a handheld tuner.

Sorry, temporary insanity there for a sec. That's why I went with 255/35 20. Thanks for the comments guys! FYI, I also think it's practical to not have anything staggered so I can rotate em tires. Pics coming soon.

For a second there...yes! Hey, it's my first time to put 20" rims on my car. I normally go with 18". Not for track use though so I don't care. I'd keep the 17" in case I do use it for track. Thanks for the welcome.

It's all preference. Some (like myself) think you lose the retro look the larger the the wheel you go with due to the ever-dwindling sidewall. Sidewall = muscle in many minds. And again, just my opinion, but the Stang isn't a big car to begin with so larger wheels just seems to... lose... the car. I'm sure I've just encouraged something here... again...

Definitely personal preference but if I wanted a classic looking car then I'd restore a 67 Fastback. I've seen 05-11 mustangs who has staggered 17-18 inch wheels and its just like it's trying hard to look like a classic car to me. I've seen 20 inch dropped with Eibach Pro Kits and it looks so sleek and smooth. It actually all depends on how you use the car. If it's for track, go with the small wheels, thicker walls. If it's for appearance, 20 inch wheels is the way to go. Now, more than 20 inch, definitely not something good to look at.

As you said, "Definitely personal preference". 20" is not mine. Nor are my 18's. The 17's on the g/f's Pony begins to look like it should, in my opinion.

I'm actually going to buy 17" staggered with fat tires on the rear for track. That's why I'm still thinking if I should lower it. Did you lower yours or kept it stock?
