Talking Blackout panel help

This is my first time posting here any help would be really appreciated. I have a 2007 Mustang GT and I have decided I really want to get a blackout panel for the trunk lid. I purchased a magnetic strip one awhile ago and it lasted about a day. I got home after work and the cheap piece of plastic had come off some where on my commute.

I have decided its worth it to me to spend more money and get a higher quality one. I have looked at all of the blackout panels that are a available and my first choice is the one offered by Trucarbon. However, from what I can gather from their site (which isn't much) I would have to remove the emblem before I could install it. I'm new to modding vehicles and removing the emblem is not something I know how to do and the last thing I want to do is irrevocably damage my car. Does anyone know if I will have to remove the emblem to install this thing. I have tried to contact Trucarbon but they dont have a number they can be reached and there are no instructions on the site. I have listed a picture below of the blackout panel.

My second choice is this one from American Muscle which looks good and does not seem to require removing the emblem.

I guess I really need some advice about the Trucarbon panel before I make a decision. thanks in advance

You shouldnt have to remove the emblem, and if you do the emblem should be able to be taken off and put back on. Im pretty sure taking off the emblem isnt irrevesible. And depending on the color of your car I like the deck lid from AM.

That's strange, I wouldn't have thought you had to take the emblem off for either of those. Either way, I believe it's just taped on, so you could pry it off with some fishing line or floss.

This is my favorite panel:

Default blackout panel

I'm not sure about how the true fiber panel attaches, but the faux gax cap is held on using double sided type adhesive. You can use a piece of fishing line to cut through it with out haurting your paint. Be warned that there are 2 pins on the back side of the cap that locate it. There will be 2 holes in the body when the cap is removed. I have a solid carbon fiber black out panel so never tried putting cap back on.

Thanks for the responses guys. I was able to find this picture over at the Trucarbon forums. Looks to me like you have to remove the emblem and re-attach it to the panel. I wonder why they made it that way? Why not simply have an open circle that the emblem fits through?

Taking the faux cap off is easy. Fishing line sawing back en forth takes it right off. Two minutes tops. I have the AM panel and love it. I acutally took my faux cap off to paint black. Re stuck it with auto double stick tape. You do NOT need to remove the cap to install the AM panel in case you were wondering.

That is the 2010+ panel

I plan to get that same panel soon hopefully, you can contact TruFiber/TruCarbon at 951-270-3222

You don't need to remove the faux cap for the 2005-2009 panel that you are looking at, there is already a hold cut out to fit around the faux cap.

Someone swiped your magnetic panel. They just don't "fall off".

Pics when you're done!
