Default Cut outs

Has anyone used cut outs with a tune or know of they could actually show the same or close to the same gains as a exhaust system

As long as you install them beyond the O2 sensors, you won't need a retune. You won't gain anything noticeable, either, other than a poor exhaust note. The stock exhaust flows darned well and those that have removed the axlebacks claim the sound is poor.

I feel a lot more torque off the line with my dual 3 inch cut outs open. I do have JBA shorty headers as well as 4.10s, Vortech@8 psi and delete plates.

I can hold the stock converter to 2800 rpm with the cut outs open and only a mere 2k with them closed. I get way more wheel spin with the cut outs open and more traction closed. Mid-top end is about the same though. No tune necessary if after cats. Run them with OR pipes for the most power imo.

Noisy as hell but sound great with cams.. gives the "buuh, buhh, buhh" cam sound lol

It's a novelty item that wears itself out quickly if you keep them open everyday, but a treat when you want it LOUD.

Fine, be that way. I revise my previous statement to read "You won't gain anything noticeable being N/A and/or catted..."
