Thinking about getting one of these and curious if anyone has and where they've had success mounting it. Interior windshield location as well as any place on the exterior you might have mounted it.

I actually bought a Contour HD camera. They have different versions, the older 720p, 1080p and now the 1080p with GPS. You can buy a windshield mount for extra money and place it on your windshield. I had placed mine in the corner on the passenger side. But my friend put his behind the rear view mirror.

I also just recently bought this camera to test out because it comes with a drop down lcd screen.

My friend had bought this one to try out. http://www.amazon.com/Dash-Dual-Came...ref=pd_sim_e_6

I have one - just got it a week ago for my birthday. I haven't actually mounted it anywhere yet, but I got the glass roof on my '12 so I can use the suction mount pretty much anywhere on that, and I have also suctioned it on the driver window behind my head. Of course the windshield is an option.

Also, on the front valence, right in the middle, there is just enough room to jam the camera in there if you want a "road-view" angle. It's at the bottom gap.

Those new GoPros are nice, a ton of guys on a stand up jet ski forum use them all the time with great results

also GoPro sells plenty of various mounting setups. You should be able to mount at nearly anywhere you wish

If you get a chance to post some video, I'd like to see it. Do you know if this has any kind of underwater case option? Would like that for SCUBA and snorkeling.

Not sure if your aware or not but the GoPro is waterproof up to 180'
Combined with the under $300 price tag (some under $200) and the awesome video quality it seems hard to beat

They do but looks like its only up to 10 meters. Someone said the GoPro goes down to 180 feet. I also do Scuba and snorkeling and it would be nice to have a video camera with multiple purposes. I will try to post some video soon.

The GoPros seem to be able to take quite the beating too. Just make sure to have a lanyard tied to something in the event the mounting fails. Doesnt happen often but Ive heard of people losing them that way

Here is a random video filmed with a GoPro (I dont think its the HD though)
