Default help needed with water leak

Alright, so my car has acquired the famous water leak, its pretty bad. I removed the carpet and passenger side kick panel and found out that the leak is entering somewhere above the fuse box. I have read numerous posts regarding this topic but did not find an answer on how to fix the leak located somewhere behind the kick panel. So does anyone have any suggestions or maybe even pictures they could share, otherwise i will have to remove the fusebox and all the wires and pour water from a hosepipe to pinpoint the exact location.

This is a copy of the TSB with supposedly repair info.

If the link doesn't work, just google search "ford mustang water leak tsb". A lot of these are just pdf files you can view or download.

It's a tough one. But once you remove the cowling you'll get the idea of the general area where the water is entering.

What year is your Stang?

Thanks for the link Alkemist, VERY helpful.

Nuke, my stang is 06, I think my problem is exactly as stated on page 3 of the tsb, if so, thats great news as I will only need new cowl panel mount grommets and seals. I will test this with running water from a hose pipe tomorrow to verify. Does any one know where i could get the grommets and seals? Is dealer the only place? Or should I just go and buy some sealer to reseal them?

I'd bite the bullet and get the Ford parts. Only because if you DON'T fix it right on your own, you may never get the damned thing to seal properly and, considering the long-term impact of a wet SJB, it's probably the cheaper way out if it solves the problem the first time. At least, thats just MY opinion.

Not saying this is the cause of yours but it's worthwhile to look into. Took me all of 5 minutes to clean them out which stopped the water from pouring in.

The OP did state that the water is coming in from somewhere above the SJB inside the kick panel. The blocked drains that you're referring to, Alec, allows water to enter thru the cabin air filter and lower air ducts.

I simply look at it as us having each others backs and covering all possibilities.

I checked the drains earlier this week after reading that particular post and my drains were clean, thanks for the advice though.
I just got back in from checking the cowl grommets and seals and apparently I am completely missing one on the passenger side, after running some water, I think that's exactly where the water is entering. Now all i have to do is get the new grommets from the dealer.
From reading the tsb, I think the new ones come with a better seal that is activated with heat.
