WE GOT BOOST!!!!!!!
Installed the 3.4" pulley and the KB BAP tonight...both of them I ran into problems. The BAP didn't make the "barely audible noise" that Tacobill" described in his "how-to" but I checked and double checked and triple checked all the wires and they're good. I thought I heard a faint electric humming so I'm thinking its working.
I installed the pulley....it didn't say which side goes in and which goes out, but I figured that the side with the machined nipple grooves goes out because the bolts fit the other way but you couldn't tighten them down without using a wrench and giving it 1/4 turns the whole way in...no way to get a TQ wrench in there! I'm just a little worried because the bolts don't tighten all the way down so that the pulley metal sits flush against the hub on the blower......there's about an 1/8" gap, but all the bolts are tightened to 91 lbs/in...
I loaded up Chris's tune that he gave me...let her idle for about 10 minutes to learn the tune and the idle speeds...I turned her off and checked the pulley again to make sure she was still tigthened down. All looked well so I took her for a test drive.
Pulled out onto the street and wound it up a bit in first before punching it. When I did punch it, I spun the tires bad!!! Shifted into second and spun them just a tad. In first, I hit around 4.5 psi. In 2nd I hit about 6 psi. I wasn't really full throttle in first though so I think it would have hit 5-6psi.
Anyways, that was just a quick test run. Tomorrow I'm going to go over it one more time and take her on a longer test drive at normal daily driving pace and see how it goes!!!!
Thanks to all who helped...Doug at Brenspeed, Chris and the guys at Blow By Racing, DrHines, and all the other MF'ers on here!! You guys helped tremendously!!!!!!
And a lesson to all those with the ever so popular Hot Rod cams who ever want to go Saleen S/C'ed:
DO NOT GET THE 4" PULLEY!!! YOU WILL JUST BLOW OUT ALL THAT BOOST AND DRIVE YOURSELF CRAZY TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHY!!! (maybe a sticky up at the top...hmmmm)
