Default Playing DVD while Driving?

So, I just got back from my dealership (had to get a scratch on my leather seat fixed that happened before I bought it) and the salesman thought that there was some way to bypass the lock that doesn't let any DVD's play on my stock system unless the car is in park.

He said to look it up on the internet but I figured I go here first and ask if anyone knows if this is possible?

I'm just curious as to why you would want to do such a thing? Please say you have kids or something.

But to answer your question I don't think my system will let me bypass it but I honestly haven't really thought to look into it. It is nice watching some south part on my breaks though, haha

Google "Ford Lockpick", that will answer your questions.

I did it with my after market head unit. My nieces love it.

If it works the same way, as in, is connected to the parking brake, then on the wiring diagram, connect the wire saying "Parking Brake" to a constant and that should do it. Don't know if its the same as aftermarket units, tho.

If it is, you might have to cut the wire since I'm assuming its in a harness

Won't having the 'parking brake engaged always on' trip the parking brake warning?
