Default Music Problems

So this Memorial weekend I took my Stang on it's first rMeoadtrip to Atlantic City and I must say it was a smooth ride. What I've noticed when having your iPod plugged in is that for some reason the sound will transfer to the rear speakers for a split second and then it'll return to normal. This has happened on 3 instances too, not like it was a one time thing. Has this happened to any of you 5.0 guys as well?

I have the OE Shaker 500 in my '07 and haven't noticed that issue, although about 90% of the time I listen to Sirius.

Have you tried any other input source, to determine whether it's the source or the speaker connections?

I use a USB thumb drive and have never had any music playback glitches like that while driving the 5.0. I also have the stock shaker 500 in my car.

I would try a new 1/8" stereo cord. I had a similar issue with the one I had going to my aftermarket head unit in my truck. If I wiggled the cord just the right way I could replicate the problem. Try doing the same. Or, just try a new cord, they're only a couple dollars.

Well, after posting I read your orig post again I'm confused.... Do you have a 2007 or a 2011 5.0? If it's cutting out using some sort of usb connection I don't have in my 09 Shaker, I'd say it's the stereo. If it does use the 1/8" stereo cord (male to male headphone-looking one), I'd try a different cord.

I have a 2012 and I'm using the USB cable that came with the iPod. I'm going to try moving the cable to see if it's that. The 2007 V6 was my prior car.

Hi Mr.Bape,

Did moving the cable help solve the issue? If not, is it only upon starting the vehicle, or is it while driving? If it occurs while in motion, have you noticed if it happens when going over bumps, or at a certain speed?

I've noticed that when I use the GPS on the navigation and a traffic related message pops up that's when the music outsources to the rear seats for a split second, then returns to normal. With no GPS it has not happened at all.

Hi Mr.Bape,

That is a bit of an odd issue! If possible, I recommend trying another device to see if it happens with that one as well. If it persists, then I suggest having the dealer diagnose it. They will be in the best position to determine why it is occurring. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
