Jack stand question

Jack stand question
I was planning on buying new jack stands in a few hours when I get off work so that I can paint all of my calipers at the same time and let them dry over night. Will I be okay to keep the weight of the vehicle in the axles for that long, or should I place them somewhere else? I've really only had experience with floor lifts at work and the cars are only lifted by the frame for about 10 or so minutes at a time.

If properly supported you can leave a car on jack stands for months. The weight of the vehicle is on the axles 24/7, jack stands or not. Just be sure its a solid surface (axles or frame) and you're good .

Haha, I literally JUST thought of that right before I checked up on this again. I guess I was just worried that the location would adjust the weight too much or something. But I can never be too cautious with my baby.

put the jackstands as close to the tires as possible...or under the frame and let the rear end hang down.
As stated, make sure they are on solid, stable ground and will not fall. Block the front tires, too, to keep the car from rolling once the rear is off the ground.

Also, I was lucky enough to have a girlfriend who loves to paint (and is much more skilled than I am at doing so) so she did the actual hard work for me. I may not have had as much interaction with this project as I thought I would, but she's happy, my car looks better, and I had a good opportunity to take the Bullitts off so I can begin to sand them before eventually painting them black. My car will have the ugly stock v6 wheels for a week or so, but it is enjoying its stay in the garage for once.
