If the rear brake pads from a 2002 V6 Mustang are the same as a 2005 V6 Mustang? A friend has a set I can have for free if they are the same.

Just did a quick parts search and it looks like part numbers are different for those model years so I would say that they will NOT fit.

Bummer.

 

Quick question.....I am doing a brake job on my car tomorrow, I can compress the caliper with a C clamp can't I? I don't need a special tool right?

Rear brakes cannot be simply compressed with a c-clamp. You need a rear brake disc tool that turns as it compresses the piston.

Any autoparts store will have the tool, either a cube that has different sizes and fits on your socket wrench or a full blown kit for use in a shop.

 

Ok got the cube, thanks for the info! That was $8, the tool was no less then $60+ wherever I checked.

Yup, seen that link many times, it is very basic....anyway, I have done many, many brake jobs, hopefully this one is as easy as the rest have been.

Brakes are very basic.
But if you dont know what you
are doing, they can kill you pronto.

 

So did a complete brake job, front and back only thing noticed was on driver side rear one pad wore down more then the other. What would cause that?

Still can't get e-brake to work :-( any ideas?
