P0607 Code- HELP!
Got in the car today (100 degrees here in memphis) drove 10 miles and the radio shut up, as in no power at all. I pulled over, turn the car off, and it wont restart, as in the battery is dead (only make the clicking sound when the starting doesnt have enough power to turn over). I plug in my SCT Tuner and there are no codes.
Call my wife, she brings jumper cables, we jump the car off, and about every 3 miles i would have to pull over turn car off, charge battery, and try to get home. Because there was no power.
Anyway about 1 mile from home, something starts working and power is restored to the car.. car is sitting at home now. Im thinking the alternator just went out... i just put in new battery 3 months ago.
anyway, the car now has P0607 code (power train control mod per) im thinking this code was thrown as the car didnt have power and i was limping it home.
ima let the car cool down and pull the alternator. by the way, tried starting the car when i got home, battery was still discharged.
any ideas? car is a 07 with 39k

Get both load tested. I suspect (as you proabably already have) the alternator is shot. If the battery hasn't been discharged for too long a period, a good overnite charge should bring it back. And once both the alternator and battery are healthy, I suspect everyting will be back to normal, other than the stupid, temporary chit that happens when you discoonect the battery for a prolonged period.
