Question Non smelling fluid under car?

My wife called me at work this morning and said that there is a small puddle of fluid on the ground in the garage. The puddle is located where my engine would be when i park my car in the garage. The fluid has a light yellow/brownish color and is odorless. The texture is very similar to oil.

I know "antifreeze" and "oil" has a smell to it.

Could this be my brake fluid or power steering fluid?

Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks!

Probably just water from the AC if it doesn't smell or have any color. Almost all fluids have a color to them.

She dabbbed her finger in it and said, the fluid is not water and is thicker, like oil.
She cleaned up the fluid with a white paper towel and the color is light yellow/brown, with no odor.
Maybe A/C compressor oil?

Hmm I don't know, any oil should have some smell to it, best bet would be to let the car sit and see if it is still leaking, if it is jump under there and see if you can find where it is coming from, you might get lucky and it might be running down something else before it gets to the floor. Also I searched AC compressor oil in google, looks like it should be a green oil. Power steering might be it, but I think you will have to look under to find the culprit.

I will take a look during my lunch break this afternoon. I have to get my oil and oil filter changed today, so I will have them take a look too.
Appreciate your thoughts!

I am almost positive it is water Kevin most likely from your AC. I get the same thing, I also get water from up near the bellhousing or somewhere in that area that leaks water near the transmission. But this only comes after it rains or the road is wet it gets in there. I don't think you have anything to worry about!

When I purchased my car I got the oil filter/oil change coupon book. I am planning on taking to the dealership this afternoon during my lunch break for an oil change and will ask them to check for leaks.
Thanks everyone!

Will do! The tech guy looked at the napkin with the fluid on it and he said it looked like oil, but he couldn't smell it, due to having a cold and being stuffed up. I told him it was odorless. I am awaiting a call to see what they find.
