CONGRATS!
Two pieces of IMPORTANT advice.
1. See if the car has had the flywheel/clutch TSB done.
2. If not, GO BUY AN EXTENDED WARRANTY.
This is a VERY common issue in these GT500's. And even the 09's have the old flywheel. Problem is a lot of them warp. If they do you must have the ENTIRE clutch assembly replaced and if its BAD, you have to have syncros fixed.
The cost of this out of pocket can get up to 5k.
Now a lot of ppl say extended warranties are useless but those people have no idea what they are talking about when it comes to THESE CARS.
This ONE JOB if you have to have it done,,, which you VERY MAY will pay for your extended warranty more than TWICE just for that repair. Remember... this is a VERY COMMON issue that comes up pretty fast on you without notice.
Make sure you buy a FORD ESP warranty and NOT another company's.
We got the Premium warranty which covers the most parts and that is the one I would DEFINITELY advise getting. It covers just about everything on the car you can think of, even your supercharger. GET THIS WARRANTY that way you do not have to worry about having a chunk of change out of your pocket in the future!.
Also... DO NOT feather or ride this clutch. Learn that it is an off or on clutch.
If you feather it or ride it... that flywheel will NOT LAST LONG.
If and when you do get the TSB, they put in a clutch and flywheel from the 10-11 GT500's so you don't have to worry about the problem happening again.
We have over 5k on our 08GT500, no signs yet of needing the TSB, but we got the warranty so that if and when that time comes, like it has with SO MANY of the 07-09 GT500's we wont have to pay for it and warranty will cover it.
We even got reciepts from friends that have had theirs covered under warranty when they had their TSB's done as proof it is covered, (even thought the TSB says it is), because some dealerships are shady and will try to get out of it.
Enjoy the ride but remember, this is a high end automobile.
An extended warranty is a GOOD investment in this case.
All parts are much more expensive than in a Mustang GT for example.
So protect your investment!
Beautiful ride and welcome to the GT500 club!

Congrats on the GT500, very sharp.
The Borla Stingers sound fantastic on these cars. As far as simple upgrades, I installed the 2.6 metco pulley, metco double bearing auxillary pulley, JLT CAI & custom dyno tune and my car went from around 418rwhp to 532rwhp/514rwtq @ 14.2 psi....this was on a MustangDyno. The car becomes a freakin beast, trust me, you'll be happy you did it!
It's how the car should have come from the factory.
