People have relocated their sensors from the stock Whipple location and they still get better IATs than the Kenne Bell setup produces. The intake location on the Kenne Bell is great - but there are other issues with the system that negate the benefits.

Also looking at the KB and Whipple. Any recommendations on where to purchase?

Lethal performance or Tousley Ford are the most popular choices. I went with Lethal. Jared was very helpful.

Hence, the heatsoak. Look, the KB is an awesome kit, but anyone who's ever hot-lapped one down a drag strip knows how bad they heat-soak on S197s. You have been down a drag strip, right?

Here is some pertinent discussion regarding the high IATs and the Kenne Bell.

Previous Kenne Bell mustang setups were also known for heat soak issues. So it's definitely not just exclusive to the 3v.

I'm not sure what my time of ownership has to do with me pointing out two factual points of interest to help a perspective buyer? Maybe I'm missing something?

More air at a cooler temperature, and billet versus cast construction with a Kenne Bell. That's all. This isn't high theology here.

I think he's asking because guys who've owned the KB for a while are pretty much in agreement that it tends to run higher IATs. No one is questioning that the KB pulls air from a different location than the whipple or that the housing is billet and the whipple housing is cast. The point is that despite those differences, the whipple runs cooler. It doesn't matter if KB routes the intake into a freezer if the IATs are high, and if you can show me a whipple that has has failure due to the cast housing, I'll bend over and bite off my own *******. Sometimes selling points are selling points, and nothing more.

Glad you like your blower, but it's no better than any other twin-screw on the market for the S197. Before you bash, learn.
