Default pony package question

question- since the 2007 ppackage came with 17" wheels... does one need to change the caliper brackets when adding gt rotors or did the ppackage already have them?

I'm pretty sure we still need to add them, but let's wait for someone more concrete in their resolve to answer.

They are still V6 brakes... You will need the GT Caliper brackets for the GT rotors since they are bigger. V6= 11.5 Inches, GT=12.4 . Rears are the same.

wonder why non pony package v6's have to change caliper brackets before adding 17 inch wheels, and pony package doesnt? its a bit confusing are ppackage calipers the same as v6? or gt? if they are the same as v6, why does ppackage bolt right up to 17 in and regular v6 will not?

Since when do non-pony package V6's have to change caliper brackets before adding 17 inch wheels....? My car is a non-PP and it came with the 16's stock and I have been running 18's for 5 years on the car most of that with the stock calipers/brackets/rotors. Pony package V6, base V6, GT all have the same calipers. And what are you talking about when you say "why does ppackage bolt right up to 17 in and regular v6 will not?" ? I think what you are asking is why can you bolt 17's on GT rotors/caliper brackets and not 16's? Cause the larger GT rotor is too big for the stock 16's to clear.

Did you read what 2005Redfire said? Clearly said that you need the GT caliper brackets and not what you apparently read.

Correct, I have the Pony package and had to get the GT brackets. The calipers themselves are the same, only the bracket and rotor are a different size.

And once you change to the bigger GT front brakes one a Pony package you can't put the 16" wheels on the front because they are too small. All the Pony package did was add a bigger wheel. Going bigger on the wheel isn't the issue.
