Default Choosing A Battery

Hi All,

So i already bought my PA Performance Alternator 130AMP(due to Charging System warning), so i will buy a new battery.
I see that optima have some good options like yellow top and red top, since i dont have any aftermarket amps or sound i think i will go with red top, there are several options for red top, which is the right for a Mustang 2007 GT Manual ?

I used the slector battery selector and get:

Group # Description
35 (8020-164) RedTop®; Battery;
D35 (8040-218) YellowTop®; Deep Cycle Battery;

Thanks

I didn't think it mattered. They are both universal when it comes to stangs. I'm planning on going with the yellowtop soon. Look at AM:

Thanks for replying.

Im on Mexico so i cannot buy it from AM, but since they are made here, we have some delears here but I wasnt sure on which one get, i notice that on the yellow top they have differences in AMP, so not sure which one i should buy.

The battery that was sent on battery selecto says:
Crank Amps 620; Crank Amps 770; Reserve Capacity 100; Amp Hour 48; Top Terminal; L-9 5/16 in.; W-6 3/4 in.; H-7 5/8

I see that for yellow top there are some with more Amps. So i think i will get this one.

Thanks

check the height of the battery including the posts. My stock battery went bad and I decided to swap in my sealed battery from a previous car (same as an optima but a different brand) and the damn thing is just tall enough to touch the hood.

luckily it had side post terminals so I switched my cables over to side post connectors and capped off the top terminals really well. Unfortunately I don't have the measurements of my current battery to give you a "maximum height" measurement.

Also, the other problem with going to a taller battery is that the strap that holds the battery in place is too short. I have to replace/remove it.

Ok I will take my car and see if the yellow fits correctly. Thanks for the advise!

The battery will depend on which alternator we have or that does not matter ?

Thanks
