Default MPG after torque convertor installed

My fiance and I took a trip to southern indiana to do some gambling. It was 158 miles to the casino and there was about 30 miles of in town driving total. I was running around 70 miles an hour on the interstate. I ended up getting around 17.5 miles to the gallon (hand calculated). Not to bad considering my mods. Before the torque install I was getting 22.5 so it suffered alot but I dont care. Funny my onboard computer was showing 25mpg which I knew was wrong. Though Id post if anyone was interested.

Which one of the TCI's do you have? The 3k TC or the 3.5k?

I'm asking because the 3k one is not a "full lock-up" converter, and that could explain the lower mpg.

It's also more of an issue in stop-and-go driving, when you're revving higher to get going.
On the highway it shouldnt matter as long as the trans is not shifting in-out of o/d and 4th.
