Automatic Transmission Service

I found this link:http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...n-service.html
or
you can install your own dipstick:http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/...-Kit-For-5R55s
Basically the best way to do this is having the tranny flushed for a cost of $125 to $150. If I had an auto I would buy the pan and dipstick and have the choice of changing my own fluid/filter and also the ability to check my fluid....I don't like the sealed unit idea.

That only makes sense, but the dealers in my area DO NOT have good reputations for the quality of work.... The dealer I bought my car from I have to take to court for not following Ford established maintenance procedure that caused over $1000 in damage and work to fix their mistake!!

I just order the deep dish pan from late model restorations, I think I'll find a place that I can use a "Clean" machine so I can fill her up with the AMSOIL Tranny fluid I have ready for the job. Next is finding a proper diff cover that won't interfer with the suspension as I here some aftermarker aluminum diff covers do...

do you have a AAA certified repair shop in your area? I have been to a couple different ones here in PHX and have had good experiences with all of them.
yeah I dont like dealers either. Whatever happened to dealers having a good reputation? Didnt that exist at one time or was that something I made up?
Also a flush is definitely the best route to go. It gets all of the dirty liquid out of the transmission which is important. It might be $100-$125 to do, but every 60k miles isnt bad and I would rather spend $100 than buying a new tranny later...

According to my trusted independent Ford mechanic, if you just drop the pan and change the fluid, you only get about a half fluid change. He did the flush and changed the filter. Cost a little more, but I feel better about the trans service.

I am bringing this back, hopefully I get some responses as I would like to take my car in either today or tomorrow.
My 2006 V6 mustang is due for an oil change but I have never changed the transmission fluid. I have owned the car since 2009 where it had about 56K on it. It now has 76K.
First, is there a way for the ford dealer to see if my mustang has had a trans flush before?
And if it hasn't, should I be doing it?
What about replacing the differential fluid mentioned above?
There seems to be a lot of people scared about the dealership. I live in Tipton, IN and go to school in West Lafayette, IN. Does anyone recommend anyone near these areas?
Thanks.
