Default Going to the track next weekend...

Going to the track for the first time next weekend. The only mod's I really have is just a catted x pipe and a axle back exhaust, if I order a tuner, will it really make that much of a difference? On a 2010, do I really need a CAI? Or will a shiftier be a better buy?

I'm so excited, after owning 4 different mustang and modding them, I never got the chance to drag race them.

Yeah, I'm sure they're not going to help me either. If I had the jack, I would switch out to my stock 18's.

From what I've heard the intake and tune make a world of difference. Plus it works as a gateway mod, because the tuner allows you to do so much more down the road.

I'd say go with the intake and tune. What shifter are you thinking about? Good luck and let us know how the track goes!

ummmm......yes. I had a CAI + Tune on my 08 GT. The Tune and CAI Was a world of difference....especially the race tune and I had a stick. THe throttle response is just so much better with a tune and the CAI adds some nice HP. The $500 price tag seems kinda steep but once you install the CAI and tune, you will quickly realize that it was worth every single penny.

I was skeptical at first but was glad that I had it. I am actually getting ready to sell my CAI + Tuner....only problem is the tuner is locked.

CAI and tune took a half second of my ET. From 13.9s stock to 13.4s. Call up brenspeed and order up dude. Have fun at the track. Its the most fun you can have outside of the bedroom!

Ok, going to order today. Do you guys think a CAI is necessary for a 2010? From what I've heard, the 2010's don't need them. Can I drive there with a89 tune, then switch to a "race tune"as long as I originally filled up with 93 gas? the drive is about an hour and a half.

Call up brenspeed and ask one of the techs about the CAI. They have always giving me honest advice with my car. Yes you can drive on the 89 tune with 93 gas in the tank. You just dont want to do the reverse. Make sure you have time to let your car cool before running it down the track. These motors will run 2-3 tenths quicker when cool vs at temp.

2010 comes with a CAI, the aftermarket ones don't account for much at all.
