Question regarding running different size tires front and rear
hi guys,
i have a 2010 mustang v6, which comes stock with 17 x 7.0 in. wheels and P225/60R17 tires .
I'm trying to change my wheels to a nicer set of wheels and came across a set that has 18X9.5 FRONTS 255/45ZR18 AND THE REARS ARE 285/40ZR18
Will I run into issues running these set of wheels and tires? Will I have clearance issue?
Will it be an issue to have a wider tire in the rear compared to the front for a V6?
Thanks

you can run staggered sized tires, no problem
if they are different diameter than OEM, you must recalibrate with a tuner to adjust the speedometer,
or you will get inaccurate speedo and odometer.
adjust to the rear tires.
that tire size shouldn't be a problem.

i'm not worried about the speedo meter being off, at most being 1 or 2 mph, which is OK with me.
About the odometer, I guess im ok with it too. where can I get the calibration done? dealer or tire shops? how much does it usually cost?
Does staggered sized tires wear out parts sooner ?
Will I have problems with ABS light or TPMS ?

Your speedometer will be off by roughly 1.4 MPH high. They'll fit unless you're lowered and the offset is a lot less than the OE wheels. You'll also lose a tad of performance due to the additional rotational mass but probably not enough to notice... much.

You will have issues with TPMS if you do not transfer sensors or buy new ones. If you are buying them online and having them mounted and balanced then I would go ahead and buy new sensors but if not, hold off but be prepared to pay a little more if they are the banded sensors. Mine were banded instead of valve stem sensors and would have cost another $156 just for the bands, at the least, if the place wouldn't have been willing to split the cost.

ok, so I picked up the california special wheels with the following spec:
245/45/19 tires
the wheels are 19x8.5 and +50 offset
the 2010 stock is:
215/60/17 tires
the wheels are 17x7 and +40 offset (not 100% sure on this)
I will install the wheels and tires on Friday / Saturday. Will let you guys know if it works out and no rubbing!
Thanks

wheels will be in tmr. ahh, so excited!
I know I can google it, but lazy :P
need to confirm, are all the lug nut seatings same for v6 and GT ? Do I need a different lug nut?
I know OEM wheels and aftermarket wheels use different type of lug nut seatings.
Whats the torque spec for the lugs?

You have alittle more diameter, which is probably a good thing and moving about 1.6" in from where your back edge currently sits. Provided it was a 2010+ CS setup, it shouldn't rub.
I torque mine to 80-85lbs. I usually don't worry about the lugs until I have seen the wheels. Seating patterns are not universal so a trip to the local NAPA goes with the process for me, but as it a CS package i'm sure a quick search (get off your lazy azz) on the MF will give you the answer
