Default Alternative to plasti dip?

Went to my local auto zone in search of plasti-dip. As to my luck, I found none. I asked the clerk and he recommended this. Seems pretty durable but doesn't look like it peels off like plasti-dip. Might do my side emblems. THAT'S IT. Yes...yes I know its for the engine but ya know..

I use that quite often on things I need EXTRA durability for.

Once that stuff is on, it WILL NOT come off - unless you sand blast it or something.

It is VERY hard to get a smooth coat with that.

I seem to have gotten a decently smooth coat with it. The imperfections you see were imperfections on the chrome pony before paint. It is REALLY durable.

And I applaud you with on that.

I must retract my coating comment, I remember I did a large piece of metal for something other than a car and I got it EXTREMELY smooth with only one coat...

To me it determines the prep and surface to begin with to determine how smooth you can get it.

Nice to see you using actual paint. As long as you cleaned them with rubbing alcohol before you painted them and used a good self etching primer you will be good.

Oh how we've fallen.
Yesterday: Plati dip, the new spraypaint
Today: Real spray paint, the new spraypaint.
