Default Forged Internals for Procharger Help

Recently spun a rod bearing running stock internals with 500hp for 2.5 years. I figured something would eventually go wrong, and it is time for the forged internals upgrade.

I've looked at a lot of different kits and companies ranging from 1200-2200 for full forged internals....What are some of your experiences with forged internals and maybe some tips and tricks you could provide me with for keeping costs down and building a very reliable 500+hp engine during this rebuild.

Thanks in advance for any helpful advice my friends!

Find a shop near you and have them do it for you.

If your block is okay it can be reused or sold. If it were me, I would be a Ford Racing Aluminator block and call it good. If you are going to build your own from scratch, let me know and I will give you some ideas.

I know Brenspeed is now selling their forged b302 Stroker kits. Not sure what they want for the rotating assembly but I paid about 3400 for the whole short block and they say its good to 900 ponies. Runs like stock for me and is smooth with 13psi.

So what is the stock short block good for hp wise? can it handle 600 hp reliably? or should I just get the brenspeed shortblock and call it a day?

I believe the b302 uses the factory aluminum block. For the rotating assembly they were using left over Saleen 302 extreme kits. I know my pistons from them were stamped Saleen.

If your block is 100% you can just get the assembly from them and assemble. But if in doubt throw it out.

I would have the orginal short block inspected, if it's good, sell it, then buy the B302.

JDM also is having a sale on their 302EF short blocks. $2995 and comes with an aluminum 4.6l block and all forged internals, and a 1 year warranty.

is there a forged internal set that is not for a stroked engine? I dont want to have to bore the cylinders because I need a stock tune for smog when I pull off the supercharger to pass. And I dont think the stroked internals will run very well with the stock tune? Or do you think it will still be okay?
