Default Car Alarm

Anyone else having trouble with their stock car alarm? I was walking away from my car a few weeks ago and it started going off. I figured I accidentally clicked the panic button. Over the following weeks I've been told a total of 3 different times by my coworkers that my alarm is going off and a seperate occassion where I was told my hazards were blinking. Each time I go out there is nothing wrong, no alarm sounding, no lights blinking. It has never gone off in my garage though while I'm home, so I was wondering if it my have something to do with the keys vacinity to the vehicle?

I don't believe I'm being dupped either, since I've seen (heard) it happen once and the co workers who informed me were not the pranking type.

Could be electrical gremlins associated with the SJB and a water leak. Have you read up on this?

To be honest I haven't. It hasn't happened in a few days and luckily the alarms doesn't keep sounding (as far as I know), it just goes through one cycle and turns off. I'll give the internet a run around to see what I can find I was just looking here to see if anyone has had this issue.

No issues with mine.
Have you driven your car through a lot of rain lately? Check behind the carpet on both sides to see if they feel damp or wet.

Snow. I'll check the carpets when I get off of work.

*Update*

So I checked under my mats and there was no sign of dampness. I believe it's a problem with the stock remote that came with the vehicle. Any ideas on who I would take this to? The dealer?

Also, it went off again by itself, this time in my garage, with the keys sitting on the kitchen table untouched.

I know you said you checked under your mats, but you should check under the carpet like where the kick plate is on the right side. Just reach back and put your hand behind the carpet. I'm hoping you do not have a leak that it may be something else. Try contacting 157dB or pascal. Both are members here and know a lot about the electrical issues with our cars.

I'll probably do that, I did actually check back and under the carpet (not just the mats) and I didn't find anything out of the ordinary. I'm really hoping it's just a faulty remote, because the alarm turns off easily enough (when I hear it).

Thanks for your help though!

My car has been doing the same thing and no water issues or anything. I did start to unplug my Sirius unit though (I blow the dash and OBD fuse if I plug in my SCT and the Sirius is on so I thought maybe it has something to do with that wiring, it is hard wired to the car). Since I stared unplugging the Sirius when I park the car the alarm hasn't gone off but the weather has been warmer as well so I don't know if it is the weather or the Sirius unit.
