First of all, thank you so much for the great reply people! I am really looking forward to get my mustang. Yours sounds about right because I pay about almost 200 for my insurance and thats from USAA which is the cheapest since I am in the military.

Also, I'm just looking at a V6 mustang but don't know which year would be good. I can't drive a MT so I am wondering if the AT for mustangs are just as nice?

2007 GT AT...$410 per month $180 for insurance

automatics are okay at the stock level, but when you wake that baby up with a CAI and tune and some 3.73 or 4.10 gears you'll fall in love all over again

good luck with your purchase and enjoy

I'm 30 years old with a clean record now (not so clean in my early - mid 20's, hehe) and when I bought my 09 GT Auto, I went to a local insurance place and had an agent quote me with pretty much all companies available. From experience, I find it better to speak with a knowledgeable rep in person rather than going the online / phone route.

I also used to be a licensed insurance agent (life, health, property casualty), so I know how important it is to discuss details in person.

That being said, my previous car was an '01 4-cylinder and I was paying $45/month. When I insured my 8-cylinder GT, I was pleasantly happy to get the same full coverage insurance for $70 / month through a local company here in Maine.

My car payment itself is a little high at $450 / month, mostly due to the added cost of an extended 5 year bumper-to-bumper warranty and the price of gap insurance. I felt it was worth the added cost because I wanted to have my sweet new ride protected as much as I could, and it made the bank more comfortable in giving me a loan.

Later the model, the better chance you have of avoiding some small problems and quirks that plague the older models (i.e. the water leak, window tint scratching, etc.) The 2007 and up models are a good idea to look for, as they do not have the water leak problem (one of the largest problems with the S197).

The auto is actually a very good transmission (reliable, and without quirks) and only gets better once tuned. I would recommend it to anyone who is considering it simply because of it's reliability.

Do you guys think its worth it to trade in my 06 mazda 3 for a brand new mustang? I mean the car is fully paid already and only has 39k miles and I've had it since 2005. I kinda feel like its time to move on but at the same time i dont know if its worth it. I've been wanting a mustang since when I was in high school. Help please :/

Hell yeah it's worth it! Once you start modding it, apperance wise, it'll look really good and it'll stand out from the crowd.
