Default Catch can or breathers?

So I have been looking to do either a catch can, or put breathers on instead. Is there any reason to do one over the other, other than breathers are cheaper?

I can't speak for breathers, but I chose the catch can since the car is a daily driver. I also thought that breathers would require constant cleanup under the hood. I guess it depends on the type of breathers you purchase. Maybe I'm wrong. With the catch can, I simply drain it every few weeks using the handy drain ****.

With breathers your guaranteed to keep oil out of the intake. I was running a catch can and it didn't work to well, never collected anything. When pulled the s/c for servicing the HE was dripping with oil. I switched to 2 breathers.

Ok that helps, I might be going with breathers, I don't mind cleaning under the hood occasionally.

It will also smell like oil with the breathers.

Do a vented catch can setup, and plum both lines to the can.

Very true, I did not think about that.

Interesting. I catch plenty of oil and mine is NA 4.0 V6. Mine is connected to the passenger side valve cover.

+1 on this. Perfect setup - and plug-and-play. I wish AM had one for the 4.0. My setup required some do-it-yourself plumbing.

Here's a pic after only ~350 miles.

I've had my JLT oil separator on for months now and I only have a few drops of oil in there. very strange.
