Default Installing DDIN, what do I need?

I have a Pioneer AVIC-X930BT head unit that I'm trying to install on my 2010 Mustang. I'm going to order the Metra 99-5823CH dash kit myself and have it professionally installed. Is there anything else aside from the dash kit that I need to buy? The guy at the shop asked me to order the harness for it, is that something that should come right along with the dash kit itself along with all the other parts?

I just ordered the Pioneer AVIC-Z130BT, when I bought the Scosche dash kit for the unit, the sales guys told me I needed the harness, antenna adapter, and a interface hardness for the steering wheel control. The shop that is going to install is said he would charge me $175 for labor and any parts I may need but do not have. I just placed an order for new front component speakers and a back up camera, I figured I might as well install those while she's in the shop. =)

I'm an audio noob, I hope I bought what I needed.

Cool, post some pics once its all installed! And yeah, I called Metra in the afternoon and they said the same thing, you need a harness, antenna adapter, and a steering wheel adapter if you have the volume controls. Looks like you're all set.

Your going to need a steering wheel control adapter, if you want to retain steering wheel controls. A antenna adapter and stereo harness from Scosche or Metra for the install. I would try to up grade the 4 6x8 speakers because, the factory speaker will not sound good with the Pioneer. Also i wouldn't worry about SYNC, because the unit you have has all the features. Here are a couple of pics of my unit.(Pioneer AVIC X920BT.

Crap! I only replaced my front two speakers, do the stock speaker really sound bad with aftermarket Pioneer units? The head unit should come in on Friday and getting installed on Saturday, I still have time to order the back speakers. Will I need an amp? Don't mean to high jack the trend.

You don't need them, but i thought replacing them would make the unit sound even better, and they did. On the rear speakers i would put a sheet of Dynomat down for the rattles from the speakers.

Wile I don't have Sync. I got the system installed today and I love it! I'll be putting up a new thread tomorrow afternoon with pics and possibly a video.

Do you need an amp when installing 4 new component speakers?

I don't have component speakers in my car. I have the Pioneer 4-way 6x8 speakers. Wish I could help you out on the question.
