Default AUX Input

Does anyone have any info on getting an AUX input installed for an iPod? That button is on the head unit but has no purpose. I don't get it!

You can pick up the harness and adapter off eBay. It's called a PIE adapter or something. But honestly I'd just get a new head unit. It will sound way better. The adapter alone costs like 75 bucks.

Did you check in the center console (under the armrest)to see if you already have a connection for the AUX selection? It will be a headphone jack. Plug the ipod in with with a Male/Male 3.5mm cable. Works fine.

This. In my 07 there is a jack in the center console. Mine is now rendered useless by my touch screen but it has its own USB in for the ipod

I believe that started coming as an option in 07 (not positive), so in that case OP would be out of luck for that.

The auxiliary input jack was standard equipment on '07 models. Before that, I don't think it was available.

Ditto. No aux input jack before '07.

Sorry y'all I've been at work all day. But yeah, I'm thinking about getting a new head unit. Touch screen preferably, any suggestions on those for a good price?

I had the same problem with my 06, bought a new headunit from crutchfields. Usb was on front of unit, problem solved.
