Looking for a deeper sound..
I'm looking for a deeper sound for my 05 v6.. the stock sounds bad to me, so i want something deeper sounding, just a little louder, but not by much. I don't know if i want to go dual, because my bumper is only cut for one.. (stock v6 rear bumper)..
Any tips on how to get a better sound?

Check out AM. They have a good selection of V6 axlebacks, and dual options. If you go dual, you just cut out the other hole. Template can be found online. A shop could do it if you weren't comfortable.
I had the Pypes Street-Pro axleback for a while. Deeper than stock, but nothing too loud. Then I went to a dual setup with GT take-offs. Now I have Boomtubes.
I'm selling my 2010 GT take-offs btw. No clue if they'll fit an '05 though. They have a nice sound to them as well. Quieter than the Street-Pro, but no drone.

If the budget is tight, you can start with a single performance muffler. The performance gain is very minimal, whether it's a single or dual exhaust.
Brands:
SLP Loudmouth
Boomtubes
Magnaflows
Pypes
Flowmasters
Search and listen to video clips on youtube to find out which one you like the best!
Good luck!

Check the V6 section, you will find a lot more info there. But as stated, a GT take off will be the cheapest, and it isn't expensive or hard to have dual exhaust installed on the 6ers.
There is a ton of exhaust info in the V6 technical section.

MAC has a good low tone without getting too loud. Check them out. I have dual but mine is a GT so that is a given and mine are definitely lower than stock.
Having two of them, the drone can be pretty bad for some people. I just turn the radio louder though. Lol.
Check out sound clips, that's your best bet, American Muscle has a lot of clips for their own mufflers if you wanna go there.

Alright. I've got a few opinions from experience. I do have duals, however (and yes, cutting the bumper is not a problem).
Going to duals will help in general.
GT takeoff: Slightly deeper, slightly louder and will not drone over any RPM
Pypes Street-Pro: Much Deeper, MUCH louder, and will drone around 2000 - 2300 RPMS, perfectly in sync with highway speeds. I would not recommend if you want a comfortable highway ride..
Pypes Violators: Same as Street Prop, expect much louder than them even. Really, unless you want a loud car, they are just obnoxious. Also, they do have a rasp to them in the higher RPMS sometimes.
Magnaflow: My personal favorite. They give the perfect combination of deep, throaty, muscle car sound with very little drone on the highway. Perfect volume level, not obnoxious, and hsa a growl when you want it. I like them and so do my parents, so that says something haha. You can find them here: http://www.americanmuscle.com/2005-m...xhaust-gt.html. They also sell a single muffler for V6 without duals.
Hope that helped a bit!
