catch can's
WTF, i have had my JLT oil separators on for almost a year now and i don't think i even have enough to fill a teaspoon. i just have oil along the walls of both reservoirs.
at first i thought it was normal now i know it is not. i could understand maybe 1 being defective but both?!?!? that has to be a problem elsewhere.

I get why you say that. They kind of look like regular ABS plastic. However, these Delrin fittings are very strong. (and guaranteed for life)
I made my own. I Think it cost me about $22. It doesnt look as nice as the billets, but it matches my cai, and gets the job done. I may make something with steel braided lines to make it look nicer eventually. I would recommend one, you can see in my picture the bit of oil in the catch can, and i had only driven it a couple times after the install.

Called jegs and that On 3 Performance catch can they sell at Jegs does not come with a mounting bracket. I imagine the holes in the top are threaded, so you could fab up a quick backyard bracket, but if you wanted a slick looking mount like you see on the UPR unit, you'd be spending just as much (either in cash or sweat equity) as if you just bought the UPR one to begin with.

the PCV lines are designed to be a closed loop: the passenger side pushes metered air into the valve covers, and the driver side the air/blowby comes out and back into the intake.
an easy way to determine which side to put the catch can on is to remove both PCV lines and look inside.
the side with the oil in it is the side you put the catch can.
you must leave the other side in place to preserve the closed loop.
those cheap oil separators from home depot are not good for our cars.
i had one, and the oil would get thru to the other side, so it did not work well.
to check if your catch can is catching the blowby, check the PCV line that goes from the can to the intake.
if there is oil in that PCV line, your catch can is not catching all the blowby.
