WTF, i have had my JLT oil separators on for almost a year now and i don't think i even have enough to fill a teaspoon. i just have oil along the walls of both reservoirs.

at first i thought it was normal now i know it is not. i could understand maybe 1 being defective but both?!?!? that has to be a problem elsewhere.

Does the 4.6 require 2 catch cans? One on each side? I'm running one on drivers side and it seems to be working...................

i previously only ran one on the driver's side but i went to go clean the throttle body and noticed a bunch of pooled oil so i put one on the passenger side as well.

Thanks, I thought about painting in but I took the easy way out and bought a powder coated one from PA Performance when they had a sale late last year.

I get why you say that. They kind of look like regular ABS plastic. However, these Delrin fittings are very strong. (and guaranteed for life)

I would recommend one, you can see in my picture the bit of oil in the catch can, and i had only driven it a couple times after the install.

I bought all the stuff to do this myself and I was going to do a big fancy write up. Then I noticed when I took the filter out of the package, the bottle wasn't glass...it was plastic! What's more in really tiny print they say dont put any synthetic oil through this, so I put everything back in the packaging and returned it to Lowes.

The On 3 and JLT look like the same can with the exception of the hose kit included and the JLT engraving.

Hey Sharad - I sent you a PM asking for the forum discount. Did you get that? I'd like to order the UPR setup.

the 3v only needs 1 on the drivers side.
the PCV lines are designed to be a closed loop: the passenger side pushes metered air into the valve covers, and the driver side the air/blowby comes out and back into the intake.
an easy way to determine which side to put the catch can on is to remove both PCV lines and look inside.
the side with the oil in it is the side you put the catch can.
you must leave the other side in place to preserve the closed loop.

those cheap oil separators from home depot are not good for our cars.
i had one, and the oil would get thru to the other side, so it did not work well.
to check if your catch can is catching the blowby, check the PCV line that goes from the can to the intake.
if there is oil in that PCV line, your catch can is not catching all the blowby.

Took some pictures of mine on Saturday. Already have about a teaspoon of oil from my 4.6 3V in only ~280 miles.
