New Entry in the Musclecar wars
When buying my car I had a buddy that was trying to convince me to buy a 392 and I never one second even considered it, not because I don't like dodge (my mom has always owned a V8 RAM) but because the price on the Boss 302 and the 392 is almost identical as is the strait line performance (I believe the Boss is a touch faster) but the Boss can turn for same price. Long story short I didn't even go test drive or even look at a 392 because it's too much money for the type of overall performance you get.
its never coming back, first of all FOX is the most unreliable source for anything. Second Plymouth is dead, so unless they bring back the nameplate, that car is gonna stay on paper. As much as i would love to see it (i love the old wide body) its not gonna happen

Buckeye pretty much summed it up. Most people I know that ran out and bought the 392 Challenger were hanging their hat on engine size, hp numbers, and 1/4 mile times while, for the same amount of money, you could get a factory road race car that is actually as fast or faster in a straight line with the Boss 302. Dodge made a beautiful car but they killed themselves with the size, weight, and price of the thing. As far as the 'Cuda not coming back, I think Fox (as "unreliable source for anything" as they are) even said the car would likely be badged under the SRT name. Perhaps it would be believable if the article was from MSNBC........

The next gen Viper is only going to be known as an SRT Viper. They are dropping the Dodge name altogether. If they do bring it back it would simply be the STR Barracuda.

If it is true, then hopefully it won't be a land yaught like the challenger.
On a side note the rumor in that article of the Viper coming back most likely pissed off all those customers who shelled out cash for the 500 or so final editions that were supposed to be the last ever made. I was over on another forum and one of the guys there was creaming his pants because he traded in his ZR1 for one.
