Default Brake dust?

I have a question about brake dust. Does brake dust on a wheel give the wheel a dirty look? The reason I'm asking is because I recently had my brake pads replaced with ceramic pads. The loud screeching sound is unbearable and it seems to be coming from the front wheels. Also, I recently washed my car and I noticed that the front wheels are about three times dirtier than the rear wheels. Is this a bad sign from the brakes and should I take it back to the shop where I had the brakes done?

yes, brake dust makes it dirty.
some aftermarket pads make more dust.
you should look for a pad that makes less dust.

Thanks for the quick answer. I understand how some pads make more dust than others, but is it a bad sign if one creates a lot more than the others?

If all 4 pads are ceramic and the same brand, the brake dust should be about the same on all wheels. The Front brakes are bigger and may work a little harder than the rears, so you may see a little more brake dust, compared to the rears. I have different brand pads on the rear and the brake dust is ridiculous!

Yeah they're all ceramic and they're all the same brand. They were all replaced at the same time and I had the rear rotors replaced and the front ones were resurfaced.

Shouldn't ceramic pads make less dust and less noise?

Generally, the better performance pads make more noise and more dust.
