TPMS Bypass
I want to get some new wheels and the Tire Pressure Measuring System which my car has drives up the price by $400 at tirerack. Anyone disabled it ok know a way around it??
I don't need it I check my tire pressure my self and the OEM one I have on malfunctioned a few times especially when it rained, my tire pressure was fine but the warning message came on.... |
No disable option. Either get the sensors or constantly look at the light.

What year is your car? do you currently have the sensors? you can reuse the stock sensors..
|
If you can't disable it, couldn't you just take the offending light bulb out of the dash cluster? I think your only other recourse would be a piece of electrical tape large enough to cover the light.

American Muscle supplies TPMS sensors for 199.00 with their wheel and tire packages. They are the cheapest I have found.

^^This. You can buy new bands so you can re-use the stock sensors. That way you won't have to do the calibration as well.

If you're using the same size rim, you should be able to re-use the originals. But if not, you'll need to buy new bands to fit the rim. I got mine at the local DiscountTire for $45 for all 4.
