Need tips for the desert
New to the Mustang world, even if I've put way too many miles on mine than I should have.
My '08 V6 just broke the 100K mark so I'll be doing all the stuff that should normally be done for that (clutch fluid changeout, spark plug replacement, etc.). I'll be moving shortly from the CA Central Coast to the greater Phoenix area, and while I won't have the ocean air to damage the body anymore, I'm concerned about what the desert heat might do.
Any pointers on precautions I should take or situations I should prepare myself for?

maybe pick up a set of auto vent shades and leave your windows cracked a couple inches or so if your gonna have it parked in the heat all day. I just read on another thread where witha little modification you can have your windows roll down when you unlock your doors with the key remote fob. probably wouldnt hurt to use a car cover if your not going to garage your car to keep sand from getting in every nook and cranny but I really dont know Im from WV im just guessing here.
A good coat of quality wax, window tint, windshield sun protection screen and make sure your AC is in good working condition. Although cracking your window helps, it also leaves a fine coat of dust in your ride. If your car is an auto then I suggest getting an remote start. It will allow you to turn on your car's AC before you leave your building. Thus, you don't get to your car, open the door, and feel the oven heat. Best wishes and welcome to AZ.
Oh, I forgot... You might want to invest in the "Club" vehicle security. It will deter the novice car thief.
