Factory HID's
Where can i buy the factory HID projector headlight kit for my 2011 GT? Is this possible? I contacted ford but havent heard back.
for example, if a 2011 gt with HIDs got in a front end collision and needed new headlights, where could you get them, and would these work on a 2011 gt that came without HIDS?

Retrofit your OEMs with projectors like I did. It is a lot less expensive than the OEM HIDS. Check out sickhids.com if you want someone to retrofit your headlights for you. If not, theretrofitsource.com has all the parts you need.

I had retrofitted HID's in my 03 mustang, would not build them, i want the factory ones and hopefully there is an aftermarket wiring harness and ballasts that can make it work.

My retrofitted HIDS cost $580.00 complete. I had sickhids.com (Brian) do the retrofitting for me. The wiring job for the harness was very professional. I did not want to put HiDs in the OEM headlight without a good projector, as this tends to burn connections, and throws light everywhere.
Here are some pictures.
The turn signal amber covers were removed from the headlights, and the white bulb was replaced with an LED bulb with alternating rows of amber and white LEDs. The turn signal lights are crystal when not turning, but change to amber when the turn signal is activated. That is why the driver side turn signal is amber and the passenger side is not.

+1 on RetroFitting. I had a forum member install mine. If you're interested, shoot StockD15b a PM and you can go over all the details. Mine ended up being less than freyes', but it depends on your options.
He also had a thread in the FS Section going over prices/details.

Ford has a wiring pig tail WPT-925 8U2Z-14S411-TA. It is the plug that plugs into the HID's.
I got a really good deal on my car or I would have ordered one with HID's. I figure I with what I saved I can spend some to get what I want.

The ballasts are in the headlight assy. I saw a set set of OEM HID's sell for $260 on eBay. They were in perfect shape from the pictures. I got mine from a Ford dealer in Georga (Expensive). They can be purchased from junk yards but they have a chance of having broken mounting tabs.

To clear this up a bit, do you just buy the wiring pig tail part # WPT-925 8U2Z-14S411-TA then plug that into your normal factory wiring harness where it would normally plug into the stock non hid headlights? If so, thats exactly what im looking for.
