Default Hurst been installed backwards???

I had my Hurst installed roughly a year ago. I love my shifter but I have one little problem that I've read about. In terms of rattle it used to be bad after my cams were installed but was sent a kit to reduce rattle from Hurst. Have very little rattle. The thing I'm trying to find out is something different. My Hurst is way left in the boot. My hurst rubs against the leather boot edges in first and second gear. I read the shifter should be in the middle of my boot unless it was installed backwards or something.

In school at the moment do can not upload a pic from my phone, it just in general sits on the left half of the boot. Not in the middle like a shifter should be.

If it is rubbing the side of the boot frame then i would suggest there is something wrong..

I don't see how to put the shifter on "Backwards", however, I suppose you can mount the chrome handle to one side or the other of the shifter. Mine is mounted to the right side (Bolt heads facing the passenger side). If yours is mounted on the left, that would certainly change the orientation of the handle.

Exactly what I think the shop did. Put it on toward driver side. The thing works and has for a year but the shifter itself isn't on right.

Easy enough to fix. It's right there on top. You can probably do it without taking the center console out.

Yeah I found that out by reading and asking around. I had a few things a performance shop was to look at anyway so I told them to fix it. Different place this time lol. Now HIGHLY considering 3.73 gears! :P

That'd be a good mod! I went with 3.73's in mine. It worked out great. Still have plenty for the highway, and certainly increased the "fun factor" stop light to stop light.
