Default JBA Header question..

Has anyone installed these and can you tell me if you ran into any problems?

I did on my 08 but with the motor out of the car.. no problems but it might be a tight squeeze with the motor in the car still.. I think I used the stock gasket and a gasket maker at the time. I don't remember, long term memory shot.. short term as well lol

I recommend the high heat ceramic titanium coated type. Supercharged, 10 psi, mods, drag racing etc. stayed cool to the touch..

A friend of mine said they were a really tight fit on his, but you never know. I had no fitment issues when I installed my kooks, that is if your looking at other brands.

Ditto.. why shorties?

trying to stay emissions friendly eh?

LT's flow so well, it might make more power than you're wanting to make especially with that 11 psi..

Do-able, but not easy! If you have means of a lift I'd strongly suggest it. I used bolts on some and studs on others. Stayed with stock gaskets too.

Only issue i had was the header hitting the steering shaft on the driver side. I fixed it by putting prothane MM in.

I already installed prothane motor mounts. The reason I was thinking about shorty's, I don't feel like messing around or the expense of replacing the cats. I just wanted to increase the flow over the stock exhaust manifolds.

I like the JBA's myself. I did them and the cams at the same time. Some say you lose some bottom end with cams. If that's the case, then I picked it back up with the headers. I also did the shorties for the same reason pretty much.

1.) I didn't want to mess with the cats as I have to pass emissions here.
2.) I couldn't justify another $1000-$1200 over the cost of the shorties for what you might gain.

I know LT's are better flow wise and performance, but couldn't spend that much more. Not for what I use the car for. If I were going to the track a lot, yes! But it's just for nice day, and weekend fun.

Yup, my reason exactly, emissions. I had Hooker long tubes (super comps) on my 72 Nova but, that's in a class with less emission restrictions. So, I know LT would be the performance way to go but, I need to keep the cats. I don't want to get an entire new custom exhaust (with new cats) just to have LT. So, I have my eye these shorties; http://www.ebay.com/itm/270926067256...84.m1436.l2649

Cheep copies of the JBA's..

I don't blame you. the stock log style manifolds suck
