Default Finally got a build date.

[sm=icon_cheers.gif]I got a phone call today from my dealler. After waiting 4 long miserable months, he told me that the big day will be Oct. 3rd. After waiting 4 months, these next few week are going to seem like forever. I'm driving my wife crazy. After the build date, How long does it take for you to actually get it? I'm hoping that it will still be nice outside so I can at least put a few miles on it before storing it for the winter.

Well, the build date on my 2006 GT was 8/2/05, and I drove it home on the 22nd, so about 20 days, give or take.

The build date he gave you is a build date for the week of ______. It can be built anytime during that week. Delivery to the dealer can take anywhere from a week to 3 weeks. I hope they don't pull yours for what they call quality check. There are some that had theirs at this point for a couple of weeks.

Congrats and good luck on the wait.

Are you sure about your build date? They didn't start building 06's until 5 August.

Mine was built 8 August and was dropped off at the Dealer on the 15th. They are cranking them out faster for the 2006's. At least initially. Time will tell.

Look on the underside of the spare tire cover for the build date. Best way to tell

Quite positive. The underside of the tire cover states that August 2nd, 2005 was the build date. Just checked it a few days ago.
