I am looking to purchase a GT500. I found a 2007 with 9000 miles on it. Is a 2008 or 2009 better? How are the clutches? I heard a comment about a clutch update?

I remember hearing something about a better harmonic balancer (I believe) being used a few years into production. I do remember something about the clutch to but I can't remember the details.

Little to no difference. Ford was/is very slow to respond to resolving problems from one model year to the next but there are no significant design changes from '07 thru '09

I believe the clutch difference for one is if the car has had a TSB/new factory clutch. A couple of our local guys had to have the clutch replaced under warranty and Ford did an updated clutch that is much easier to depress.

Sounds like a nice 2007 to me. Depending on the price that could be a real steal.

Thanks for the replys. I read the TSB on the clutch/trans isue, re road tested the car and bought it. The car has Magnaflow exhaust, a K &N air intake and a reprogrammer. How can I tell if it has a smaller pulley? Can the engine hold up with a smaller pulley? I had a 2006 GT that I added a Hurst shifter, will a Hurst shifter improve the 6 spd?

The engine can hold a ton of power, a smaller pulley (if you confirm it has one) shouldn't be a concern. Check the Shelby section, those guys know a whole lot about the car.

Edit: Congratulations on getting the car. I hope you enjoy it.
