Default Stripes

I'm going to replace my stripes. I have white rally stripes now and they are fading and peeling in spots. I'm going to have them painted on.

I'm looking for some opinions on stripe colors for a Vista Blue '09. I am trying to decide on Sliver, a dark silver (gunmetal gray), a charcoal, or just black. I was also considering something subtle like a shade or two lighter blue and make it semi gloss. Tough choices. I am going to change to a "boss" stripe, (a solid wide stripe, with 2 thin side stripes.)

Any input would be great. I am kinda leaning towards black I think. Kinda gives it a tougher look. I do want to do something on the sides, maybe just the bottom of doors, so not sure how black would work out.

Dark Silver / Gunmetal. My car is candy apple and I came very close to going with the same color for stripes.

So how does white fade? Get whiter?

In case you haven't seen this before it's a helpful site.

And for what it's worth, I like the black too.

Yea, I did find that. Pretty cool site. That's actually how I added the darker gray to my list, lol.

As far as white fading, basically they were gloss white, now it's eggshell. And they are spotted.

How much would a stripe paint job cost?

For all panels, probably around 1000. That's bumpers, spoiler, lower front spoiler, everything. And that's fully cleared so there's. I edge on stripes.

I vote for silver racing stripes! It adds a nice contrast with Vista Blue. Dark gray and black do not stand out as much against Vista Blue.

Check out MadStang40's pics of his Vista blue stang with silver stripes.

Yea, that is pretty nice for sure. Would probably look great with the Saleen accents on the bottom door! Another idea!

Thanks for the shout out Kevin! haha.

I've got Silver (paint code TL) stripes on my ride and I'm glad I went that route. Definitely stand out against the vista blue but not incredibly so like white stripes do. However, I do think that black stripes (if done correctly) would look great.

Commence pic whoring:

I'm thinkin Silver would be better due to the polished bullits as well. I do like the small 1" stripe on the outside. Makes the whole thing look a lot different. Very nice ride man!!
